My Tough Weekend

Well I’m finally getting around to doing a quick update my blog! This weekend was rougher than expected. Despite my incorporation of electrolytes and CBD, I still felt very tired and even managed to sleep over 16 hours one night. I felt fatigued, had an upset stomach and felt irritable. I think the electrolytes and CBD really helped with staving off muscle cramps. As of now, I feel much better and have passed the dreadful brain fog, fatigued zombie phase. I’m trying to avoid weighing myself religiously so when I last weighed myself yesterday, I was at 223.8 lbs. I’m going to experiment with some exogenous ketones for a while. This Thursday I will begin to track and exercise. I will write a more updated blog. Hope everyone is staying safe!

Let the Keto Flu begin…

Just finished my third night and it’s my Friday! I decided to start keto today in order to avoid the infamous keto flu. This way I’ve got the next 3 days off to undergo the potential headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, muscle cramping ,mood swings and brain fog. In order to stave off these symptoms I’m going to take an electrolyte supplement, take a CBD tincture, drink lots of water and try to get good sleep. I will update my blog to share the severity of the symptoms I experience in an attempt to see if these interventions help; maybe they may help you if you are just starting you keto journey!

On another note, I’m going to share my plan for losing weight. I plan to track my macros, incorporate intermittent fasting, intuitional eating, exercise and incorporate eating carnivore for a few days a week. I’m not incorporating all of this right off the bat. I’m going to slowly add these things in. I’m going to allow my body to adjust to the “fat burning mode” as opposed to the high carb binge eating I’ve been indulging in. I will begin tracking my macros starting next week. If you have questions on how to figure out your macros, you can Google a TDEE calculator to calculate what your protein, fat and carbohydrate macros should be. When I start tracking a week from today, I will share what my projected macros will be. I will use an app called Senza to track my intake.

My starting weight is 230.4 lbs. I’m hoping to reach a goal weight of 160 lbs, give or take. Ultimately, I want to feel great, have better energy levels and be comfortable in my skin! For so many years, I’ve been overweight. I started being self conscious about my body at a very young age. I grew and matured at a faster rate than my peers so I always stood out. To top that off, I became overweight around the 5th grade. Around 6th grade, I joined track and took karate classes and lost a lot of weight. My lowest weight was 140 when I was a freshman. I remember even then I was self conscious and still felt “fat”. By doing this blog, I want to share my journey of taking control of not only my health, but my life. As awkward as it may get, I’m going to be open and share all of the details. I hope you will join me!

Welcome to my Blog!

A little bit about me….

Hi! My name is Victoria. I live in northern California and have lived here all of my life. For a majority of my life I’ve been overweight. I’m making this blog to document my successes and failures during this journey…hopefully more successes than failures. My intent to share my fitness/weight loss journey is to share my weaknesses, temptations and failures. So many people struggle with their weight and I’m hoping to reach out to many of you so that we can connect and perhaps figure out where we can share our successes and figure out what works for us. I’ve always been intrigued with health and the evolution of health and nutrition science. The food pyramid, or what you may recognize as Myplate presently, has undergone vast evolution. What is truly healthy for us? And is there a universal regimen for what constitutes “healthy”? I believe this isn’t the case. I plan to utilize a ketogenic diet, exercise, intermittent fasting and intuitional eating to attempt to reach my goal weight. I will try to post at least a few times a few a week. I will share my recipes, my workouts, and weight loss progress. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!
